Bordeaux En Primeur 2025

Bordeaux En Primeur 2025
What is Bordeaux En Primeur?
Buying En Primeur or as "wine futures" means you are buying a wine before it has been bottled. Customers are likely then to have a chance to invest or cellar purchase as their own enjoyment with their own choice in advance at a fairly price range.
How does buying En Primeur work?
First, our team has selected number of wines assorted in different categories in terms of customer's favourite, (see attached PDF for details). All wines are sold in original wooden cases, and in many cases, one can choose to have the wine bottled in Magnum, Double-Magnum, Half bottles or Imperial formats. These sizes become much rarer after En Primeur season.
Once the wine becomes physically available after bottling (approximately the first half year of 2028), we will have them all shipped to our warehouse. You can then ask us to deliver your wines, or we can store them for you. (See attached PDF for details)
Access to the finest selection in Exceptional Provenance:
En Primeur enables everyone to purchase limited-release wines at the best condition that may not become available again at the same price after bottling.

Key Factors of 2025 Vintage?
- Volume : Smallest since 1991 - Bordeaux produced twice as many bottles from the 2016 vintage as it will from 2025. A structural rarity.
- Yields : 15 to -25% - No disease, no hail. Purely natural concentration driven by drought.
- Average alcohol : ~13.3% - Moderate despite the heatwave. The late-August rains prevented over-ripeness.
- pH (Left Bank) : ~3.3 - Acidity preserved, equivalent to 2024, which was a fresh vintage.
- First harvest : 11 August - Sauvignon Blanc, an absolute record for dry white wines in Bordeaux.
- Day/night range : Cool nights throughout the summer preserved acidity and aromatics. This is what differentiates 2025 from 2022: same heat, much more freshness.
Key Appellations:
- Medoc : Muscular structure, precise tannins, high freshness; age-worthy, more approachable than recent hot vintages.
- Pessac-Leognan/Graves : Whites vibrant, precise, and aromatic; reds healthy, concentrated with pure fruit and freshness.
- Saint-Emilion : Well-balanced, deep, aromatic, elegant; enjoyable young with aging potential.
- Pomerol : Standout region; velvety Merlot with lively Cabernet Franc, low yields, smooth and deep wines.
- Sauternes/Barsac : Rich, complex sweet wines with fresh vibrancy; strict selection, moderate volumes.
Vintage 2025 Summary:
- Rarity due to low yields (flowering and drought).
- Strong investment appeal: great style, low volume, broad attractiveness.
- REDS : excel in concentration, velvety tannins, and surprising freshness.
- WHITES : shine with energy and finesse.
Focuses on analysing the 2025 Bordeaux vintage, calling it one of the "magic 5 great vintages" (alongside 2015, 2005, 1995, 1985), characterized by power, balance, pleasure, and rarity.
The 2025 vintage is rare and diverse, ideal for both early drinking and long-term cellaring, highly investable.
